Temporary Closure of: A338 (Part) Burbage – Grafton – Great Bedwyn - Shalbourne to
Berkshire County Boundary (Ref: A2/RC 2012/07)
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all
traffic:
A338 (Part) Burbage – Grafton – Great Bedwyn – Shalbourne; from its junction with
A346/B3087 Burbage Roundabout for a distance of approximately 12 kilometres in a north
easterly direction to Berkshire County Boundary.
To enable:
Wiltshire Council to carry out drainage and carriageway repairs, carriageway resurfacing,
road marking and stud replacement.
Alternative Route North Eastbound Vehicles via: A346 (Burbage to Marlborough), A4
(Marlborough to Hungerford), B4192 (Hungerford), UC 3369/1 Charnham Park (Hungerford),
A4 (Charnham Street to A338), A338 (Bridge Street, High Street, Salisbury Road)
Hungerford to Wiltshire County Boundary.
Alternative South Westbound Vehicles via: A338 (Berkshire County Boundary – Salisbury
Road, High Street, Bridge Street) Hungerford, A4 (Hungerford to Marlborough), A346
(Marlborough to Burbage), A338 (Burbage to Berkshire County Boundary).
The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into force on Monday 5 March 2012 operating NIGHTLY between the
hours 19.00 – 06.00. It is anticipated that the works will take 10 NIGHTS to complete. The
Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
