SECTION 106 GRANT
The Parish Council has available approximately £23,000 arising from the Ropewind development. This money must be spent on outdoor recreational activities of use to the village, unfortunately this excludes pavillion refurbishment. It has been proposed that the money should be spent on additional equipment for the play area and refurbishment of the tennis court. If anyone has any other ideas for the use of this money please let any member of the Parish Council know.
CON ALERT
On Monday 11 July two men driving a white tipper transit van registration NA 06 SNV approached a householder in Shalbourne claiming that they were “authorised” by the Parish Council to cut hedges overhanging a road and quoting an exorbitant sum to cut that householder’s hedges. Fortunately the householder became suspicious, the police were called and the two men are now “helping police with their enquiries”!
Although this incident was resolved, please note that the Parish Council DO NOT “authorise/endorse/licence” any person or company to carry out work for others in the Parish. If you are approached by any individuals claiming such endorsement, please contact the police
